For our Open Day in October 2009, we displayed a wonderful collection of exhibits from the Artists Pension Trust against the backdrop of one of our huge white storage vaults. These reside peacefully in the Wiltshire/Hampshire countryside at Dean Hill Park, the site of our new state-of-art storage facility.
Described by one museum curator as "...quite an extraordinary place that reminds one of the set of Dr No rather than a traditional picture store", Dean Hill Park is a former Royal Naval Armaments depot (once used for the storage of weapons) that is now home to the arts community.
Each of the OES vaults have been adapted to reach the required environmental standard for museum objects both in terms of stable relative humidity and temperature, light not being a problem!
